To Slay Radical Islam

Freedom Chronicles, Vol. 4.20.26

Iran is the last remaining state following Mohammad’s command to conquer the infidel. In that regard, it is worth noting that on September 11, 1683, the army led by the Polish King, Jan Sobiesky, together with the Habsburg forces manning the fortress walls of Vienna, defeated the Islamic armies led by the Ottoman commander, Kara (the dark) Moustapha.

As I write in my book, Lessons from Fallen Civilizations,

On September 12, 1683, for the first time in over two hundred years, the Ottoman Empire suffered a crushing defeat by European armies. With their defeat at Vienna, the Ottoman Empire inexorably began to contract, culminating with its dismemberment at the end of World War I.

Bin Laden did not pick a random date for his attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the US capital. As a pious Muslim, he knew the Islamists’ version of history. September 11 was, and is, a very important anniversary for Muslim jihadists.

On September 11, 1683, Islam reached an important high-water mark. It was the actual day when the Ottoman Caliphate ruled the largest portion of the European continent, and the largest number of European infidels were subject to its administration. The king of Poland, Jan Sobieski, in command of European allied armies, defeated a vastly larger Muslim invading army at Vienna and began the nearly uninterrupted decline of the Ottoman Empire.

Bin Laden’s selection of that specific day was his signal to Muslims worldwide, who also knew the significance of the anniversary, that Islam would resume its holy conquest of the infidel and reassert its rightful rule over the West. The attacks would right the wrong committed 318 years earlier.

The US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Caine, briefed the press about the blockade of Iran’s coastline and ships seeking to enter or leave Iran’s ports. “We will actively pursue any Iranian-flagged vessel or any vessel attempting to provide material support to Iran,” he said.

The theater commander and head of CENTCOM, Bradley Cooper, added that he wished to extend his gratitude to the US’s regional partners, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan, who he described as “exceptional teammates.”

What is most historically significant about Cooper’s statement of gratitude is that the regional partners he named are countries whose borders were drawn by the victors after World War I but are nevertheless modern leaders of the Sunni branch of Islam. The significance of this cannot be overstated. They are now allied with the leader of the infidels, America, and with Israel, whose existence they tried to eradicate only a few decades ago. So why have the Sunni states now allied with Israel and America?

The schism between the Shiite and Sunni branches of Islam took place shortly after Mohammad’s death in the middle of the seventh century, with the Shiites dominating what was once the Persian Homeland and the Sunni branch holding their holiest of cities, Mecca and Medina.

The two branches fought one another in costly, brutal wars at various times during the intervening centuries. Yet one thing united them—Mohammad’s command to conquer the infidel. Mohammad did not tell his followers to “go teach all nations.” Islam spread through brutal conquest.

As we reported in a previous Freedom Chronicles column, Israeli intelligence personnel have been able to telephone key members of the IRGC (Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps), speaking to them in Farsi, letting them know they have two choices—quit the Corps or be eliminated. Intelligence from inside Iran indicates that defections are resulting.

In addition, American and Israeli aircraft are eliminating key checkpoints manned by the Basij thugs. These were set up along major roads, both inside and at the outskirts of cities, where dress codes were enforced and minor infractions punished with impunity. They were symbols of the regime’s oppression of its own citizenry. With the allies’ mastery of the skies, these hated outposts have been mostly destroyed and remain unmanned. On March 17, the leader of the hated Basij, Gholamrezi Soleimani, was blown to bits at one of the checkpoints.

With the allies’ mastery of the skies, the elimination of its navy, and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, in a matter of weeks, the Iranian regime will run out of fuel, food, and water, its currency nearly worthless. Therefore, it will not be able to pay its military. Iran has no more cards to play.

When the last few IRGC Commanders are killed, the process of regime change can begin. Once Iran has freed itself of the Muslim fanatics who have brutally ruled the country for 47 years, it will become evident that most of the Iranian people have left Islam. While the remaining Muslim jihadists will continue to reside in Western capitals, Paris, London, New York, and Minneapolis, the Islamic Middle East will finally, after 14 centuries, be at peace with the West.

About the Author:

Larry Kelley’s life was utterly changed by 9/11. On the day after the attacks, on his way to work, he was struck by the sudden realization that World War III had commenced. Like most Americans he desperately wanted to find out who were these people who attacked us, what could ordinary citizens do to join the battle and how can those plotting to kill us in future attacks be defeated. Mr. Kelley has written scores of columns on the dangers of western complacency.
