How Do We Know the Thugs Have Surrendered?

While the world awaits to see if this Middle East peace will hold, there is a strong clue that would lead us to believe that the thugs running the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have surrendered. The clue is that Iranian state-run media and al Jazeera are reporting that there will be public burials for the slain Supreme Leader, Khamenei.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Araghchi, publicly said the US-Iran MoU (Memorandum of Understanding, a euphemism for a peace agreement and surrender) has “never been closer.” He cautioned the Iranian media against speculation but added that the deal will include “an end to the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon.”

Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif announced that the “final, agreed-upon text of the peace deal has been reached” between the US and Iran, adding that the “next steps” are currently being finalized.

US Central Command announced US forces would continue to strictly enforce the blockade on Iranian ports.

Trump’s announcement that a deal had been reached came roughly five hours after he warned the US military would be “taking Kharg Island” and other Iranian “oil infrastructure points in the not-too-distant future”.

In this, its latest 90-day war, Iran managed to assemble a lengthy list of enemies, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and others.

The funeral ceremonies of Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, will begin in Tehran on July 4 and will last three days in Tehran, another day in the Holy City of Qom, and conclude in his hometown of Mashhad on July 9, totaling six days of public mourning for the great one.

The burial was initially scheduled for March but was postponed while the US and Israelis controlled the skies. Khamenei was killed on February 28, in a US-launched airstrike on Tehran which devastated his office and killed other top leaders, including his Defense Minister, Aziz Nasirzadeh, and other senior officials.

We can theorize that one reason the IRGC has been slow to surrender is that in January of this year, in response to nationwide protests, they oversaw the killing of an estimated 20,000 of their own countrymen and women. One can only wonder—if they surrender, will they not be marked, men?

At this writing, there have been no reports of IRGC officials leaving on planes to Moscow or Beijing. Yet the public funeral and the national days of mourning for Khamenei are now scheduled. Presumably, these ceremonies will bring into full view what remains of the Iranian leadership. Their willingness to mourn in public must mean that they have delivered assurances to the US-led allies that they have given up the fight.
