Winston Churchill is among the vast number of historians who have concluded that the war in Europe could have been prevented if Britain and France had acted to stop Hitler before he invaded Czechoslovakia. His building war machine and the speeches he delivered before adoring crowds made his intended conquest of Europe utterly clear.
Since the fall of the Shah and the capture of our embassy by the Iranian government in November of ’79, seven US presidents have seen our service men and women killed or maimed by Iranian-sponsored assassins. A brief but not complete list of the acts of war conducted by the regime against the U.S. is as follows:
1. Beirut Embassy Bombing, ’83 – 17 killed
2. Beirut Marine Barracks, ’83 – 241 killed
3. Saudi Arabia, The Khobar Towers, 19 killed, 400 wounded
4. Iraq War – Through IED’s – Over 600 killed
5. Middle East, After October 7, ’23 – 180+ missile attacks on US bases
6. Two assassination plots against the President of the United States
Not until this year has the United States finally responded to Iranian acts of war in kind. History will likely conclude that had Trump and Netanyahu not acted when they did, it would have been too late. The question is—Too late for what?
At the outset of our final negotiations in Oman, the Iranian delegates bragged that they had enough nearly enriched uranium to produce 10 weapons. They admitted Iran was the proverbial turn of the screwdriver away from becoming a nuclear-armed state.
While it is impossible to prove that this president prevented nuclear war, it is terrifying when one understands the belief system that guides the men running Iran. The ruling clerics are apocalyptic Shiites. They follow Twelver Shia Islam (Ithnā ʿAshariyya in Arabic or Davāzdah-emāmī in Persian). The twelfth Imam is believed to be in a state of occultation (hidden from the world) and will return at the end of times. They believe his blessed return will come when the world outside of Shia Islam is destroyed. The men running Iran have not only been killing our soldiers for the past 47 years but, much like Hitler, have continuously led their adoring crowds in chants of death to America! And worse yet, they are preparing for the apocalypse.
Easter Rescues
On Good Friday, videos began circulating showing the rescue of the first crew member of an F-15 fighter jet shot down in Iran behind enemy lines. Two of the rescue helicopters were hit, wounding some of the crew aboard. A second American jet, a close-air-support A-10 Warthog, was shot down, its pilot ejected to safety, and the first airman rescued.
The rescue of the second F-15 airman on Easter morning was more miraculous. He hid from Iranians searching for him in mountainous terrain, his location unknown even to Americans for some time. His efforts to evade the enemy reportedly took him up a 7,000-foot ridge, with American aircraft bombing Iranians who were in pursuit.
As darkness fell for a second night, American special operations forces hastily constructed a forward air base inside Iran and then rescued the airman by plane. Incredibly, no American lives were lost.
The Masters of Psychological War
In just five weeks, the alliance of the U.S. and Israel has destroyed the Iranian navy, its air force, its anti-aircraft systems, most of its command-and-control centers, most of its weapons factories, and most of its missile launching platforms.
Here are just two other facts that speak to the utter domination of Iran by the alliance:
First: Hundreds of IRGC officers have been killed in targeted strikes, including commander Ali-Reza Soleimani, inside the capital. The message: there is no safe address in Iran.
Second: the Mossad has conducted masterful psychological warfare unprecedented in the history of human conflict. IRGC commanders are contacted directly by phone and asked for by name, with personal data about the official. The calls are not made to recruit them but to demonstrate that Israel knows everything about them, that its operatives are already inside their inner world.
Mossad’s offer is simple—Join the popular uprising or be eliminated.
This isn’t conventional counterterrorism. It is the surgical removal of the regime’s spine, leaving the body of the Islamic Republic structurally intact, but functionally without a head. It is achieving command paralysis. The regime’s officers are unable to determine if their next call is from a colleague or an Israeli handler. The pressure to defect is not just coming from outside, but also from internal despair.
The message is clear to every IRGC member. He knows: the organization cannot protect him. The Mossad is dissolving the psychology that holds the regime’s hierarchy together.
On March 23, Admiral Cooper told Iran International that the United States would send a “very clear signal” for when Iranians should take to the streets. It will be thrilling to behold.
