Can American Freedoms Survive Three More Years of Lies?

obamaGeddonNow that the sequester, also known as ‘Obamageddon” has descended upon the land and federal government spending over the next decade will descend to a mere $44 trillion as opposed to a projected $46 trillion, it is instructive to reflect upon the mountain of lies, false assumptions, and straw men pedaled over the last four years by this president, his party and their media allies.

First, have you noticed Obama never credits the virtues of freedom or enormous accomplishments of our free market capitalist system? Does he ever acknowledge our free market system for having produced the highest standard living ever known or the huge expansion of human longevity through the advances in modern medicine?   Instead he constantly decries those who aren’t “paying their fair share.”

By this construct he is really extolling the virtues of commitment which is the antithesis of freedomAnd by this, he is putting on notice anyone on his enemies list, oil company employees, coal miners, hedge fund managers, major Republican party donors, et al, that even though they may be among the top 10% of wage earners who pay 90% of all federal income taxes, they are still shirkers and that they must shoulder a still greater commitment.  While the federal government has never confiscated greater portion of the electorates’ income, $2.6 trillion annually, this president never tells us the truth about to whom do we need to be more committed? Shouldn’t all these vast confiscated funds create sufficient largesse? The short answer is no.  But the real answer is we need to be more committed to his voters. His social justice is a fake straw man.  He is in the business of transferring wealth as a mechanism for buying votes and gaining power. And in that regard, there is never enough money for a man who wants complete control over the world’s largest economy.

What is starting to filter out to the “low information voters” and the devotees in the Obama media is that the sequester will not cause all manner of calamities predicted by the dissembler-in-chief.  It will only slow the growth of government.  But his bogus predictions about the sequester are not the real Big Lie.  What is it? This president and his party constantly lie about wanting to “narrow the gap between the rich and the poor” or wanting to “boost the safety net.”  What they cannot say is that their game is always about raising taxes from every portion of the private sector, the rich, the middle class, and even the poor.  While the top 5% of income earners in high tax states such as New York, Illinois, and California have seen their cumulative tax burden cross the revolution-inducing 50% mark, this insatiable government is exacting higher and higher tribute from the middle through a thousand cuts.

In my book, Lessons from Fallen Civilizations – Can a Bankrupt America Survive the Current Islamic Threat, I predict that in the sunset of the Obama years,  a majority of Americans will awaken to the lies of the American left:

“…more and more Americans were becoming aware that …the real tax burden always falls on the middle class in a capitalist society because that is where the vast majority of country’s taxable income is generated. (They) understood that taxing the rich and the promise of free health care for all was simply part of a familiar con. Most Americans awakened to the fact that individuals making $200,000 a year were hardly rich, nor were there enough of them to feed Obama’s welfare state leviathan. The middle class was his target. The president’s real plan was to extract the money from the middle class in a myriad of ways—fees, hidden taxes, higher Medicare deductibles, penalties and fines, carbon taxes, special assessments to cover failing hospitals and school districts, crony capitalist value-added taxes, and the biggest hidden tax of all—inflation.”

Of course, Obama will never publicly announce that he is a class-warfare socialist and a devoted follower Saul Alinsky.  Yet his policies have everything to do with overturning Madison and implementing Marx.  How is the central dictum of Marxism, From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs, any different from the constant rhetoric and initiatives of this president?

During World War II Churchill made the conflict between collectivism and freedom plain by asserting, “Capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings and socialism is the equal sharing of misery.”  This president is not only wrong and wrong for America, but he constantly lies about his true objectives.  The big lie is that his policies will impoverish the middle class, make it dependent on government, and devoted Democrat voters. Hence his real plan is to create the permanent Marxist majority.  The question remains—will enough Americans awaken to the real Obama agenda before it’s fully implemented and too late to save our freedoms?

Larry Kelley’s life was utterly changed by 9/11. On the day after the attacks, on his way to work, he was struck by the sudden realization that World War III had commenced. Like most Americans he desperately wanted to find out who were these people who attacked us, what could ordinary citizens do to join the battle and how can those plotting to kill us in future attacks be defeated. Mr. Kelley has written scores of columns on the dangers of western complacency.
