No government official took responsibility for the implementation of the gun control measures which COST thirteen of our unarmed soldiers to lose their lives to the home-grown jihadist, Major Nidal Hassan who screamed, “alahu Akbar,” while he mowed down his own colleagues at close range.
To add insult to grievous injury, this president refused to name the attack for what it was—an act Islamic terrorism and referred to it as “workplace violence”. The event showed the pathology of liberalism and gun control laws that have rendered the American military unable even to protect its own troops inside the United States. But what seemed even more shocking was the fact that the country’s most senior Army officer, Gen. George Casey, publicly stated that the attack caused him to be more worried about “harm to the military’s diversity” than the disgrace that failed to prevent such an appalling waste of lives.
Another cruel irony associated with this president calling for new gun laws is that it was people very near to him and his Attorney General authorized the “Fast and Furious” gun running operation where the exact same weapons he would ban here in the US where delivered into the hands of Mexican drug lords. Would these new laws have prevented the hundreds of Mexican campesinos and American border guards and Jaime Zapata from losing their lives?
Representative, Louis Gomert, said on the floor of the House:
“We have a president and an Attorney General who make speeches about how they’re going to go after illegal gun sales, and yet there’s blood on their hands…and we can’t even find out who they are!”
Obama and his administration not only promote and pass unconstitutional laws which they themselves have no intention of obeying but they appear to be sublimely confident that no one inside their inner circle will be held to account for any sort of malfeasance small or large. Obama and his administration have made it abundantly clear that they hold themselves above the law and that we are living in America’s first post-constitutionalist republic.
Moreover, I heard twice yesterday that Obama is on record as saying, before his election to the presidency that he did not believe in the American citizen’s right to bear arms. If we had a mainstream media which would report this fact and connect the dots, Americans might rise up to save this republic from ruin. In stating that he did not believe in the second amendment, Obama gave himself away.
The first thing that all autocrats do, once in power, is disarm the citizenry. Over the past century, tyrannies have uniformly understood that they can only rule if their subjects are unarmed.
