In my book, Lessons from Fallen Civilizations, the subtitle poses a stark question; Can a Bankrupt America Survive the Current Islamic Threat? So frequently do we see headlines such as, Car Bomb at Mosque Kills 37 or Terror Leader Emerges, Then Vanishes in Sahara, that the misnamed phenomenon—The War on Terror, fades into irrelevance. Despite the Obama administration’s assurances to the contrary, the global war between the West and resurgent militant Islam continues to escalate. My new column will contain on-going essays that portray the modern soldiers of Allah as animated by the example of the Prophet and his teachings. It will portray this war as but a continuation of the Muslim conquest of Western Christendom which began in the 7th century. Most importantly News from the Front will maintain that we look away from this threat at our grave peril.
Where is the Front?
News from the Front, will show that resurgent militant Islam and its allies in rogue state capitals, from Caracas to Pyongyang, are now waging a worldwide jihad against the West, planning attacks in the Philippines, North Africa, in the Muslim enclaves of France, Britain, Sweden, the “no go zones” where European police fear to go, and in the suburbs of Washington DC where Imams openly preach hatred of America. As Catherine Herridge points out in her book, The Next Wave, law enforcement agencies are interdicting a new terrorist plot inside the US, on average, once every two weeks. Since 9/11, Muslims have launched 20,000 attacks worldwide. They indiscriminately kill the infidel and secular Muslims alike. Their mission is to intimidate, destabilize and ultimately impose fundamentalist Islam upon the non-Muslim world.
The “Immutables”
In Lessons, I identify 10 “Immutable Laws” which govern the fall of five great civilizations, the Greek Polis, Carthage, Rome, Byzantium, and the Ottoman Empires. The Free Molly Norris Project
Molly Norris was a cartoonist living in the Seattle area who made the fateful decision to encourage her Facebook followers to participate in a “Draw Mohammad Day.” As such she is the first American journalist driven into hiding by radical Islam inside the US. A recurring theme in this column will feature the Molly Norris Project which my publisher and I have founded to support Molly and other journalists who will come under attack for exposing Islamic aggression and to remind Americans what she represents. There is Good News from the Front
In response to 9/11, America opened two theaters of war aimed at the jihadists, in Iraq and Afghanistan. Our quisling media has attempted to portray the loss of blood and treasure in Iraq as Bush’s folly and therefore a waste. But they are traitorously wrong. If truthful history writing survives, future historians will acknowledge that the Bush-led allies scored decisive victories against the soldiers of Allah in both theaters. First, they won both initial conflicts decisively, both in a matter of weeks. And second, through great perseverance and unremitting courage, they made lasting positive impacts on the Muslim world and created vast numbers of new allies for the West. They planted the seeds pluralism and tolerance given us the by our Judeo/Christian underpinnings.
In Iraq, the American-led allies were ultimately able to unite the Sunni, Shiite, and Iraqi Kurds who aided in successfully stamping out the jihadists who poured into Iraq from all over the Middle East and who were killed in great numbers. The invasion caused Gaddafi to abandon his nuclear weapons programs which led to his ultimate removal from power. Today, this Iraqi troika holds democratic elections and elects a government which is not openly hostile to the US. No longer would Sadam Hussein be filling up mass graves of murdered Iraqis. No longer would he be paying Palestinian families $25,000 for sending their sons on suicide missions to Israel. No longer would he be a threat to the region, to our allies, and to US interests.
In Afghanistan, despite the fact that the Karzai government is corrupt and inept, the liberation of its 35 million people has had an enormously positive impact on them.
- In 2001 under the Taliban, there were 900,000 boys enrolled in school and practically no girls. Today there are 8,000,000 children in school, 2.6 million are girls.
- Due to international and Afghan efforts to increase access to healthcare, average life expectancy has soared from 40 to 60.
- In 2001 there were 32 miles of paved roads. Today there are 7,450.
- The economy has grown from $2 billion to $20 billion
- There continues to be a functioning democracy
- Despite the government’s seeming willingness to negotiate with the Taliban, a recent BBC poll shows the Taliban’s approval to be under 10% among the Afghan people. A majority continues to welcome US military support.
In both countries, the good news is that the majority of now liberated Muslims prefer western-inspired freedom and pluralism to tyranny whether that tyranny is a theocracy or a police state.
The Women of Islam Can Force Its Reformation
In Lessons From Fallen Civlizations, I profile a number of courageous, formerly Islamic women such as Ayaan Hirsi Ally. These are women who have publicly left Islam and through their writing and public appearances accuse Islam of crimes against humanity. These are the heroines of my book and my ongoing column. Islam marks for death apostates. It executes women for crimes such as dating an infidel, infidelity, or for refusing to enter into a forced marriage. A regular theme of this column will be to highlight the women of Islam whose struggles for basic human rights have the potential to force the faith to reform or die.
Iran
News from the Front will emanate from the belief that Iran is the leading sponsor of Islamic terrorism and that a nuclear armed Iran is a mortal threat to the West. The good news about Iran is that the Persian culture is vastly older than Islam. The majority of well educated young Iranians not only know that Islam was brutally imposed by an alien Arab culture, but is disgusted with living under a brutal theocratic rule. As was the case in Iraq and Afghanistan, one of the recurring themes in this column will be the notion that an overthrow of the Iranian regime by outside powers will be welcomed by a majority of Iranians. Moreover, if the theocracy falls, vast numbers of Iranians will openly leave the faith.
A Summary and a Request
My goal in writing my book and this column is to awaken our fellow Americans to the fact that, if we continue down the path of European socialist decline, the American empire may not be able to wander quietly into the night as did British and the French. I fear that our decline and fall could well be catastrophic.
