The Religion of Peace

Shortly after 9/11, President Bush said that “Islam is the religion of peace.”  While history will likely be kind to him for such an unfortunate statement, given that he courageously took the war against militant Islam to the heart of the Middle East.  But can there be any doubt that Islam is the religion of war?  Since 9/11 there have been worldwide 20,000 attacks by Muslims.  And tellingly, most of the casualties have been suffered by fellow Muslims.  In Syria alone, it is estimated now that there have been 70,000 deaths.

About the Author:

Larry Kelley’s life was utterly changed by 9/11. On the day after the attacks, on his way to work, he was struck by the sudden realization that World War III had commenced. Like most Americans he desperately wanted to find out who were these people who attacked us, what could ordinary citizens do to join the battle and how can those plotting to kill us in future attacks be defeated. Mr. Kelley has written scores of columns on the dangers of western complacency.
