This Government Exists to Secure Freedom Not Rule Our Lives

Most conservative pundits and politicians agree with Joel Ross who writes, “It appears that Trump folded because the Arabs told him they needed Iran’s attacks to end, and out of fear that a continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz would bring economic decline of major proportions to the world.”

It is not fair to say he folded, given that the American and Israeli militaries destroyed much of the Iranian nuclear weapons program, its air force, anti-aircraft weaponry, and navy, rendering the world’s leading sponsor of terror years not weeks away from possessing nuclear weapons. Yet our current negotiations with the murderous zealots ruling Iran who are the antithesis of honest brokers look ludicrous.

As I detail in my book, Lessons from Fallen Civilizations, Why Great Societies Fail, in the mid seventh century, the Roman Empire in the West, formerly headquartered on the Italian Peninsula, had fallen. But the Roman Empire of the East, based in Constantinople (the empire we call Byzantium) still ruled most of the Middle East and North Africa. All were Christian lands until the decades following Mohammad’s death in 632. The Muslim armies stormed out of the desert and conquered two-thirds of Wester Christendom including the birthplace of Christ and the lands of Judea.

In their brutal conquest of the Roman cities and small hamlets across the Middle East, North Africa and the Iberian Peninsula, they left thousands of dead, raping and pillaging without mercy. They destroyed and burned the library in Alexandria, said to have contained thousands of ancient historical documents. The lands they conquered in North Africa and the Middle East including the City of Constantinople, now Istanbul, will not be returned by the Muslims.

The tyrants that Trump’s emissaries are now negotiating with are Iran’s IRGC who killed 45,000 of their own people. Like their sister terrorists, ISIS, they also murder anyone they deem an apostate. Today’s IRGC are the Muslims of the 7th century. It is central to their culture and belief system the command to conquer or kill the infidel. It is who they are.

While everyone on the left and right is postulating as to what Trump’s motives are for halting the bombing and theorizing as to what his next moves will be, I have some suggestions. He could be waiting for our suppliers to manufacture and restock our munitions. Additionally, he can clearly see that, with the Straits open, energy prices are falling and overall prices are coming down. This in turn will give Trump and the Republicans a chance to hold the majorities in Congress. If the left regains power, all bets are off. Leftists take pride in losing wars.

Pausing the war could be the result of Trump playing his three-dimensional chess. The negotiations led by Vice President Vance may simply be a ruse to buy time, to restock our munitions, win the midterm election, and then deliver the knockout blow. Additionally, the pause in bombing will give the Mossad time to infiltrate and kill more of the IRGC (Iranian Revolution Guard Corps) ranks.

In a previous Freedom Chronicles, I reported that the Israeli’s have been so successful at infiltrating the Iranian regime, that they can call a senior leader inside the IRGC, and speak to him in Farsi, letting him know they know where the man and his family lives and that he has two choices. He can quit the Corps or remain until he and his family are killed. At this writing, it is still not known how many in the IRGC have left their posts. It will no doubt be the stuff of future thrillers.

Our battle against this regime is the latest chapter the fourteen-century war with Islam which has resulted in catastrophic defeats and loss of lands. The mass migration of Muslims to Europe and CAIR in the US are all components of Islam’s quest to dominant the West. Mayor Mamdani was partly funded by foreign Islamic funds.

During the first 250 years of this country’s existence, Americans have relied on the government to secure our freedoms not to run our lives. The question is always—will it meet those expectations as we travel into the future? Because freedom is always under siege.

About the Author:

Larry Kelley’s life was utterly changed by 9/11. On the day after the attacks, on his way to work, he was struck by the sudden realization that World War III had commenced. Like most Americans he desperately wanted to find out who were these people who attacked us, what could ordinary citizens do to join the battle and how can those plotting to kill us in future attacks be defeated. Mr. Kelley has written scores of columns on the dangers of western complacency.
